Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich.
Dortmund have reported that Sabitzer has signed a 4-year contract until 2027.
The 29-year-old will join the Dortmund squad heading to the United States of America for the pre-season tour.
“I can’t wait to wear the Dortmund shirt,” Sabitzer told the club’s website. The discussions with the Dortmund officials were more than wonderful and showed how ambitious this club wants to be.
He continued: “I want to do everything I can to ensure that the club achieves its goals and achieves something special for the club and its fans.”
Sabitzer joined Bayern Munich from Leipzig in 2021 and spent two seasons with the team.
The Austrian player spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United.
Sabitzer participated with Bayern and Manchester United in the current season in 42 games, during which he scored 4 goals and assisted two goals.
Dortmund finished the Bundesliga last season in second place behind Bayern Munich and lost the league title in the last round.
Sabitzer has become Dortmund’s third contract in the current summer transfer window, having signed Rami Bensabeini and Felix Nmecha.
